On 23 September 2026, the SmartAgriCambodia: Advancing Sustainable Agriculture in Battambang project organised Field Day 2026 at the National University of Battambang (NUBB), bringing together representatives of Cambodian and Czech government institutions, universities, development partners, farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and the private sector. The event provided a platform to showcase smart agricultural technologies, practical solutions, and opportunities for cooperation aimed at supporting the sustainable development and modernisation of Cambodian agriculture. High-Level Cambodian–Czech Participation Field Day 2026 was honoured by the presence of: H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia H.E. Markéta Kolc Hájková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Cambodia Their participation highlighted the importance of continued Cambodian–Czech cooperation in agricultural education, technology transfer, innovation, and capacity development. The event also provided an opportunity for government representatives, academic institutions, development partners, farmers, and private-sector stakeholders to exchange experiences and explore practical approaches for applying modern technologies in agricultural production and services. SmartAgri Fair: From Technology to Practical Applications A key component of Field Day 2026 was the SmartAgri Fair, where project partners and private-sector companies presented agricultural technologies, products, and services through exhibition booths and practical demonstrations. The demonstrations covered a broad range of applications, including: Agricultural drones and digital field mapping Precision agriculture and data-driven farming Modern agricultural machinery Smart agricultural technologies Agricultural processing and value-added products Practical solutions for improving agricultural production and efficiency The fair created opportunities for participants to see how modern technologies can be adapted to local agricultural conditions and connected with education, technical services, production, and markets. Connecting Knowledge, Technology and Agricultural Practice Field Day 2026 reflected the core approach of the SmartAgriCambodia project: connecting education, institutions, technology, farmers, and the private sector to transform knowledge and innovation into practical solutions for Cambodian agriculture. Through demonstrations, knowledge exchange, and cooperation among Cambodian and Czech partners, the event contributed to strengthening awareness of smart agriculture and highlighting opportunities for the wider adoption of technologies that can support more efficient, sustainable, and resilient agricultural production. The Field Day also served as an important platform for strengthening networks among agricultural stakeholders and promoting continued cooperation in the development of Cambodia's agricultural sector.
