In Battambang Province, several service providers offer modern agricultural machinery to help local farmers improve productivity and efficiency. Key services include the use of drones for pesticide spraying, tractors for land preparation and plowing, and harvesting machines to streamline the collection of rice and other crops. These technologies help reduce labor costs, save time, and enhance the overall quality of agricultural production in the region. Professor David Herak and Dr. Václav Novák from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague visited three different service providers in Battambang, focusing on drones, tractors , and harvesting machines . “Agriculture is the most important sector in Battambang Province, and it’s great to see that local farmers have already started using innovative technologies like drones. I see strong potential for the introduction of additional advanced technologies, such as sensors, data-driven solutions, and other smart tools, to support more sustainable and efficient farming. The SmartAgri Cambodia project will help drive this progress, and I’m glad to be part of it,” said Dr. Václav Novák. The project is funded by the Česká rozvojová agentura (CzechAid) and jointly implemented by Česká zemědělská univerzita v Praze - Technická fakulta, BAIDE (Building Action for Integration and Deveopment Engagement), National University of Battambang (NUBB) and Lutheran Hope Cambodia Organization.
